No disclosure duty
The material is free and it is good. Complete introductory computer science courses from major universities are online at no cost, and someone who finishes one and builds something real knows more than many graduates. This route is legitimate and some of the best people in the field took it.
It also has the highest failure rate here, for structural reasons rather than personal ones. No instructor, no cohort, no schedule, and nobody notices when you stop. Completion rates on open online courses are low for everybody, including people with degrees and stable housing.
What actually changes the odds is not a better course. It is other people: one other person doing the same thing at a standing time each week. The part the free material does not come with, and it is the part that decides. Community college evening cohorts, local meetups, and nonprofit programmes exist in part to supply exactly this.
This is the lane where nothing is required of anyone. No school has to offer it, no board has to fund it, no employer has to sponsor it, and nobody has to answer when it does not work. It is also the lane most often recommended to whoever the other seven did not reach.
Equity investment is not credit. No federal law requires an investor to give you a reason.
