What the work is worth. Species survive or vanish based on what wildlife biologists document and argue for. This is science speaking on behalf of the living things that cannot.
An ordinary day. Study animals in the wild and in the lab, track populations, assess habitat, and advise on conservation and policy.

The personality behind the work
- Patience. You accept that real proof takes months or years of testing, and you can wait for it.
- Inquiry. You ask deep questions about how the natural world works and you keep asking.
- Empathy. You care about the physical and emotional well-being of other people, and it shows in how you work.
- Meticulousness. You record exact notes and follow strict procedures without being told to.
- Practicality. You are drawn to building functional things — physical or digital — that work in the real world.
- Persistence. You keep going through hours of troubleshooting. A problem that refuses to yield is a reason to stay, not a reason to leave.
- Curiosity. You want to find the hidden pattern in raw numbers. A pile of data is a mystery you want to solve.
