What the work is worth. The web is where most people meet an organization for the first time. A web developer builds the front door for clinics, schools, small businesses, and campaigns.
An ordinary day. Build and maintain websites and web apps, translate designs into working pages, fix layout and performance issues, and test across devices.
The path in. Associate's or bachelor's, or a self-taught portfolio; front-end work rewards demonstrated skill over credentials.
From zero. The STEM Farm Software / Web / QA / Automation track starts at zero-STEM intake and ends in this kind of work, with verified proof at every gate.

STEM profession compatibility test with no experience. Compatibility is measured trait by trait: each career's score says which of your traits meet the role's demands and which the role would stretch. A profession is a career you stay in. The assessment measures the traits that make the daily work sustainable — not whether you can pass the first class, but whether you will still want the work at year ten. No experience is the starting state of every STEM Farm track: zero-STEM intake, then verified proof at every gate.

The personality behind the work
- Adaptability. New tools, new languages, new rules do not throw you. You expect the ground to move and you enjoy relearning.
- Practicality. You are drawn to building functional things — physical or digital — that work in the real world.
- Persistence. You keep going through hours of troubleshooting. A problem that refuses to yield is a reason to stay, not a reason to leave.
- Abstract & Systems Thinking. You can hold an invisible system in your head — logic flows, data moving between parts, cause and effect you cannot see.
- Communication. You can turn a complex finding into a clear story for people who do not share your training.
- Detail Orientation. You remember complex facts and catch small errors before they become large ones.
