What the work is worth. Astronomy tells humanity where it lives and where it came from. It also produced the sensors, optics, and computing methods now used across medicine and industry.
An ordinary day. Observe with telescopes and satellites, analyze enormous datasets, model stars and galaxies, and compete for instrument time and grants.
The path in. Doctorate in astronomy or physics.
From zero. The STEM Farm Laboratory / Biotechnology / Life Sciences track starts at zero-STEM intake and ends in this kind of work, with verified proof at every gate.

STEM fields path without a degree. A path has a start, a direction and a destination. The assessment gives the direction, the career pages the destination, and the STEM Farm track the start at zero. Eight STEM fields, eight trait signatures. The assessment scores you on all fifteen traits and shows which fields are already yours before you commit to a major or a program. Web, software, security, data and technician roles open through certificates, apprenticeships and portfolios; the STEM Farm track assumes no degree.

The personality behind the work
- Inquiry. You ask deep questions about how the natural world works and you keep asking.
- Patience. You accept that real proof takes months or years of testing, and you can wait for it.
- Numbers & Data Affinity. You like living in numbers, tables, and measurements; quantitative work feels natural.
- Abstract & Systems Thinking. You can hold an invisible system in your head — logic flows, data moving between parts, cause and effect you cannot see.
- Persistence. You keep going through hours of troubleshooting. A problem that refuses to yield is a reason to stay, not a reason to leave.
- Curiosity. You want to find the hidden pattern in raw numbers. A pile of data is a mystery you want to solve.
- Meticulousness. You record exact notes and follow strict procedures without being told to.
