What the work is worth. The path is long because the responsibility is total. A physician holds the final call on another person's life.
An ordinary day. Diagnose and treat illness and injury, perform procedures, make decisions under uncertainty with a life on the line, and keep learning for an entire career.
The path in. Bachelor's, four-year medical degree, then three to seven years of residency; the longest STEM path.
From zero. The STEM Farm Healthcare / Clinical Support / Medical Technology track starts at zero-STEM intake and ends in this kind of work, with verified proof at every gate.

STEM field options for veterans. Forty options across eight families is a lot to weigh by hand. The assessment does the weighing: fit score, trait-fit breakdown, impact fit, and where each role would stretch you. Each STEM field has a trait signature. Software runs on persistence and abstraction; health on empathy and composure; research on patience and inquiry; engineering on practicality and spatial reasoning. Service builds composure, meticulousness and collaboration on hard deadlines — three of the fifteen traits measured. See which careers run on what you already have.
