Growth on that scale moves rents before it moves wages, and the families who held the neighborhood together during the lean years are the ones priced out first. At the same time, STEM and skilled-trade employers across Florida report hiring gaps they cannot fill. Those two facts are one problem seen from two sides, and the counter-move is the same: route local young people into verified, higher-wage skills before the market prices them out.
